Communications and Marketing position
Media and Communications Intern/Volunteer Exchange
Volunteer position, four to six month placement preferred, flexible hours to be negotiated.
Background:
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work of one of Australia’s longest-operating social enterprises and intentional communities. As our Media and Communications Intern you will be involved in telling the story of the Commonground community, promoting our Venue for hire to social change and community organisations and strengthening our brand and communications strategy.
Commonground Training Resources is a registered charity, established in 1984 to resource the social change movement. Over the last thirty-five years we have supported hundreds of social change groups to build skills and effectiveness in their work for social change.
We are also a very well established intentional community - set on a beautiful 95 acre bush property near Seymour, central Victoria just 1.5hrs from Melbourne. The community consists of full and part-time residents, members, volunteers and ‘friends-of’ Commonground and we are incredibly proud of our history and the ongoing contribution we make to social change in Australia.
This position may be ideally suited to you if you are keen to:
Work within an organisation with strong social justice values, and a commitment to make positive change
Be part of a community supporting and networking with a wide range of social change and community organisations
Learn from others experienced in the social change and community sector
Give back and contribute to making a difference
Live and/or work in a beautiful natural setting
Learn about and experience life in a cooperative and intentional community
Commonground acknowledges and pays respects to the Taungurung clans and elders, past, present and future, as the traditional custodians of the land we live and work on at Commonground. Commonground is an equal opportunity employer. People with disability, people from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply for this position.
